Stone Crib
Estate.
The character
of the land.
Stone Crib is our single-vineyard estate in Rutherford, planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It’s a place we’re proud to call home.
From the vineyard rows to the architecture, we’re reminded of the history we’re part of and the people who cared for this land before us.
We’re here to carry that story forward, tending our vines with care and making wines that let the character of this place speak for itself.
The history
beneath the vines.

A colorful

A closer look at
what we grow.
Cabernet Sauvignon leads our estate plantings, complemented by Cabernet Franc. We work with distinct clonal selections of both varieties, bringing a range of expressions to our winemaking.
What's so special
about Rutherford?
Our vineyards sit in the heart of Rutherford, at the edge of the Rutherford Bench where it meets the valley floor. The Bench is known for its gravelly, well-draining soils.
Warm days help the grapes ripen fully, while cool nights help preserve their freshness. Rutherford is also known for “Rutherford dust” a fine, cocoa-like texture. Together, that balance and distinctive character give us the foundation for our estate wines.
We bring our own expression of Rutherford to the glass, guided by our vineyard and the character of each vintage.
The place
behind the name.
Our estate’s stone architecture inspired the Stone Crib name and the illustration on our label. It’s a distinctive part of our home in Rutherford, and one we share with every bottle.
The Stone Crib replaced an earlier wooden farm building on our property. Some of the original wood was reused inside, preserving a connection to the estate’s agricultural past.
It reminds us to take the long view; in how we care for our vineyard, make our wines, and plan for the future.

Life among the vines.
There’s plenty to see out here besides grapes. Hummingbirds perch on the vineyard wires, butterflies visit the flowers, and bluebirds keep watch from the fence posts. We spend a lot of time in these rows, and we’re always noticing something new.
Caring for
what comes next.
Rutherford is our home, and we’re caring for it with the future in mind. We want the vineyards to thrive, the buildings to keep their historical character, and the land to be healthy for generations to come.
