Our story.
It started with hospitality.
Before Grand Napa, there were many years spent welcoming guests to the table in Minnesota. Wine was part of that experience: helping someone find a bottle they loved, hearing what they thought, and remembering it the next time they visited.
In 2008, Dwight Bonewell and business partner Brad Ketz founded Grand Napa Vineyards. Dwight's experience around the table helped shape what they wanted to put in the bottle.
That still shapes our idea of great wine: made with care, meant to be opened, and best enjoyed in good company.
Home in Rutherford.
Our Rutherford estate is home to vineyard rows and the historic stone building that gives Stone Crib its name. It’s where we grow our estate Cabernet Sauvignon and care for a property with a long local history.
Beyond the estate, we work with growers across Napa Valley, bringing the character of different vineyards into our wines.
Today, those wines reach tables around the world, while Rutherford remains our home.

Many of you have already met Zach out on the road, pouring at tastings and sharing our wines. As the next generation in our family business, he brings a fresh perspective while building on the relationships that have shaped Grand Napa.
We’re building on that foundation, exploring new ideas for our wines and new ways to share them with you.
